Social Events and Guided Tours

Various social events are foreseen during the conference. Additionally, many sightseeing tours may be booked separately with our partner company AUSTROPA INTERCONVENTION during the conference. 

  • Monday 18 February, 19:00: Welcome Reception, Conference Venue, TU Wien (included in the conference fee)
  • Wednesday 20 February, 14:15: Viennese Waltz Experience, Tanzschule Dorner (max. number of participants 80; included in the conference fee)
  • Wednesday 20 February, 20:00: Classical Concert, TU Wien, Kuppelsaal (included in the conference fee)
  • Thursday 21 February, 19:30: Conference Dinner, Palais Ferstel (included in the conference fee)

All registered participants and accompanying persons are invited to join these events. Please have a look at the map for the respective locations.

Events included in the conference fee

Welcome Reception (Venue)

On the evening of the first conference day, a welcome reception is scheduled directly at the venue with big-band-music and buffet-style food.

The Viennese Waltz Experience (Tanzschule Dorner)

Take this opportunity to learn the world-famous Viennese Waltz. In a dance lesson at the "Tanzschule Dorner" (dancing school Dorner) you can learn to move to the classical sounds of the city. Upon successful completion of a lesson, you will receive a Viennese Waltz diploma. Refreshments will be served at an inermission.

This additional event on Wednesday afternoon at the Tanzschule Dorner is included in the conference fee, but it is required to sign up at the registration due to the limited number (80) of places available.

Classical Concert (TU Wien)

The concert will take place in the main building of at the Technische Universit├Ąt Wien (Karlsplatz 13, 1040 Wien) at the Kuppelsaal.

Snacks and drinks will be served in the intermission.

Conference Dinner (Palais Ferstel)

The Palais Ferstel is about 160 years old and hosts a traditional Viennese coffee shop. In the upper floor, there is a magnificent banquet hall which will be the location of our conference dinner.
